Home Crest Hotel Davao Jexx Hinggo

If you are looking for an affordable hotel during your quick business or leisure trip in Davao City, you should consider Home Crest Hotel. They are the best-value hotel in Davao that is located near SM City Davao and Overland Transport Terminal. They offer excellent services and amenities for all travelers with very accommodating staff.

I stayed in their Deluxe Room for one night and all I did was to relax and enjoy the weekend. I had a rough week at work and we organized an event at Eden Nature Park a day before, so I guess I deserved that staycation.

I checked in at 2 PM and was greeted by a smiling hotel guard and staff at the door. They were accommodating and I even had a little chitchat with their receptionists. They made me feel welcomed and didn't have a hard time getting my keys, breakfast buffet stub, and WiFi passwords that last for 23 hours.

When I entered the room, I felt cozy and I just want to jump off the bed and lie there for hours. I like the combination of brown and white colors of the room. They don't have many designs in the room which I like. It looks clean and relaxing at the same time.

The Deluxe Room has a refrigerator, air-condition, cable TV, and a workstation.

The bed is firm enough to get a good and comfortable sleep. You don't feel like you're sinking and it's not too high. It has 4 big pillows too!

It has its own bath with hot and cold handheld and rain showerhead set. The bathroom has free shampoo, bath gel, dental kits, and lotion. I had 2 clean and fluffy towels on top of the rack and I love the wall-mounted magnifying mirrors.

The best part of Home Crest Hotel is that they are near SM City Davao. It's about a 2-minute walk distance from the hotel. So you can shop, watch a movie, or dine without taking a cab. It's also near a cake shop, restaurants, banks, convenience store, spa, and even the beach! You'll get to enjoy everything without taking too much of your time traveling.

Later that night, I was able to shoot a video for my next vlog because I don't know what to do next. Haha! I grabbed some popcorn and soda at the convenience store and watched all my vlogs on the TV with my flash drive. Yes, you can do it too! :)

I had a great sleep I almost did not catch the free breakfast buffet. I went to their restaurant downstairs called CENA to fill my tummy with good food. I wasn't able to take pictures of the food I ate because it was almost 10 AM. They served bread, 2 kinds of cooked rice, 2 viands, corn soup, a pasta, salad, and some sweets. I actually expected a lot of food choices but that was enough for me.

Will blog more about CENA Modern Bistro soon.

So far I enjoyed my stay at Home Crest Hotel. It's good for business trips or a quick visit to Davao City. They have function rooms, meeting rooms, and a grand ballroom for your big events. One thing I should mention is that they don't have a pool and a gym but you'll get to enjoy that from the establishments nearby.

Marco Polo Davao will celebrate it's 18th anniversary on December 17, 2016 and I was glad to be invited to their grand launch of activities last January 18. The hotel's General Manager, Dottie Wurgler-Cronin headed the ceremony by the sound of the Mindanaoan gong at the hotel lobby. Ms. Dottie gave a sneak peak on the upcoming activities this year and the promotions which they will launch as a prelude to its big day on December 17.

"These activities, among many others, will highlight the hotel's coming-of-age. It has also been a meaningful 18 years for Marco Polo Davao, and we believe that the hotel has blossomed into a top-of-mind and most premier hotel in Mindanao because of your continued support. Rest assured that this will be a very festive year for everyone.", says the highly enthusiastic GM Ms. Dottie.

A sumptuous lunch was prepared for us and the friends from the media at Polo Bistro after the intimate opening ceremony. All dishes are Valentine's Day Specials and were prepared by Executive Sous Chef Alex Destriza and F&B Manager Chel Galang-Yabut.

Amuse Bouche, Parma Ham with Balsamic Melon, and Micro Greens
Blue Swimmer Crabs - Crab Salad with Mesclun Leaves, Spring Onion, Sour Cream, Red Lump Caviar and Compressed Fruits
Wild Mushroom Truffle Cappuccino with Crisp Bacon Bits and Herb

If you have plans this Valentine's Day, bring them to Polo Bistro and enjoy the exquisite cuisine in Mindanao's first and only premier hotel - Marco Polo Davao.
