Let's all welcome the new year with continuous festivities at Starbucks! The coffee brand hypes up the celebration for its 20th anniversary, with decadent servings of flavor and a variety of exciting on the menu.

Starting January 9, Starbucks mixes in one of Japan’s most popular culinary ingredients, the Okinawa Brown Sugar, to create Okinawa Brown Sugar Latté. The elegant drink highlights the hint of molasses found in the sugar and fuses in light caramel for a less sweet, coffee forward drink.

A returning favorite, the Salted Caramel Mocha Crumble, combines deep chocolate and espresso flavors with toffee nut syrup, layered with a delicious combination of whipped cream and caramel sauce. This adorable barista bear collectible has two new looks for the upcoming season! The 20th Anniversary Bearista Bear wears the classic black apron with the 20th-anniversary logo of Starbucks Philippines. The Bearista Bear also dons a Philippine Flag inspired Frappuccino® pin. On the other hand, the Bearista Bear Dog is all about the onset of the Lunar New Year.

Collectors will enjoy the pup illustrations on the Lunar New Year merchandise as it highlights this year’s Chinese zodiac which is the Earth Dog.

PayMaya, a pioneer and leader in mobile money and digital financial services in the country, partnered with Facebook last September to announce a safe and effective new way for people in the Philippines to send money, pay bills, and buy mobile load and data using Messenger.

This is great news for everyone especially for a busy person like me. I don't have time to go to different places to buy load, pay the bills, and send money to my family. Just recently, I sent money to my friend and it was fast and easy!

All I had to do was to search @PayMayaOfficial on Messenger to start the transaction. The chatbot will guide you on the available menu options. Note that new PayMaya users can create their account using Messenger while those who already have the PayMaya app installed on their Android phones can link their wallet to Messenger.

I'm thrilled that PayMaya and Facebook made this happen. This will help the Filipinos to have an easier option for paying bills or sending money to family and friends. I also use it to purchase airline tickets, pay my monthly Spotify Premium and iTunes subscriptions, and pay my Facebook Ads.

Promo Mechanics

The promo is open to all PayMaya customers who have their accounts linked to the Messenger app. Promo period is from December 6 to 19, 2017.

Click on the promo notification and share the promo message to your Messenger contacts (open to both Smart and Globe subscribers).
Alternatively, you can also click on “Promos” in the menu and select “Refer Friends, Get P50” to access the promo message which you can share to your friends.
Each time a friend successfully opens or links a PayMaya account in Messenger, you (sender) will get P50 in your PayMaya account. Your friend (receiver), in return, will also receive P50 in his/her PayMaya account.
Users can only share the promo message to up to 25 friends, and can then earn a maximum of P1,250 worth of incentives (maximum of 25 successful referrals only).
Rewards will be credited to both the sender and receiver within one to three business days after the PayMaya account has been created/linked.

Promo rules:

The promo is only available to senders/receivers who have Facebook/Messenger accounts created before December 6, 2017.
Users must have a PayMaya account linked to Messenger before referring a friend in order to earn the incentive.
Rewards will not be given if a pre-existing PayMaya in Messenger user creates another account with a different number.
If a new user (receiver) is invited by multiple people, the referral will be attributed to the account (sender) who referred the new user last.
The promo message cannot be shared to a group of contacts or a Page (must be shared individually).
A user who is invited cannot unlink and relink accounts.
Any users who receive an invite and create/link a PayMaya account after the end of the promo will not receive any incentives.
The sender and the receiver cannot have the same PayMaya account. The receiver cannot link a PayMaya account that has been previously linked to another user’s Messenger account.
