Budget Hotel near Poblacion: Hop Inn Makati Avenue

I stayed at Hop Inn Makati Avenue during a recent trip to Manila. Thought I’d share a bit about the experience—what I liked, what stood out, and a few things to keep in mind if you’re planning to stay there too.

LOCATION

What really stood out was the hotel’s spot on Makati Avenue. It’s surrounded by a mix of restaurants and convenience stores, which made grabbing a quick bite or picking up essentials super easy. Poblacion—one of Manila’s most lively neighborhoods for dining and nightlife—is just a short walk away. Everything felt close enough to explore on foot without hassle.

That said, because it’s near a busy street, there can be a bit of ambient noise. If you're a light sleeper, I recommend requesting a room that doesn't face the road because it makes a difference.

It's a great starting point if you're planning to check out Makati or venture into other parts of the city.

ROOM

My room was spacious, really cool, and comfortable—especially the bed, which was perfect for winding down after a long day. I liked that there was a desk right by the window; it made working more pleasant, and the dependable WiFi didn’t hurt.

A few thoughtful touches made the stay even smoother:

• A secure safety locker for valuables
• Hot/cold water dispensers on every floor (so convenient)
• A clean, well-sized bathroom with great water pressure (hot and cold!)
• And yes, a hair dryer

It’s clear the room was designed with both comfort and practicality in mind.

STAFF SERVICE

The Hop Inn Makati Avenue's staff was excellent. They were always willing to assist with inquiries or requests. I truly valued how easy and quick the check-in and check-out procedures were.
