Last August 26, 2024, my family and I spent part of our Day 3 in Bohol exploring the lovely Bohol Bee Farm. And though we only had a few hours to explore, the experience was rich, flavorful, and inspiring..png)
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by lush greenery and a breathtaking view of the ocean. The place felt serene and refreshing.

Ice Cream First, Always
Of course, we had to try their homemade ice cream—made with fresh coconut milk and served in a gluten-free cassava cone. I went for the Peanut Kisses flavor (because, hello, it’s a Bohol pasalubong classic!). It was nutty, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. At ₱80 per scoop, it was totally worth it.
Local Finds and Craft Magic
Their pasalubong center was a treasure trove! We saw raw honey, rattan bags, herbal teas, handwoven baskets, and even organic bath products. What really caught my attention was someone weaving raffia right there on the spot. I was honestly mesmerized, watching her create a beautiful craft so intricate as if she had been doing this for years.
Asin Tibuok: A Salty Surprise
This was also where I finally got to see Asin Tibuok in person! I’d only read about it before, so holding it felt kinda special. It’s this traditional Filipino sea salt made through an old-school process involving coconut husks and seawater. Learning how it’s made gave me a whole new appreciation for it.
Honey Dew Calamay = Sweet Happiness
We also tried their Honey Dew Calamay. It's sticky, sweet, and perfect with hot bread or pastries. What’s cool is that it’s packaged in coconut shells, which not only looks rustic and cute but also keeps things eco-friendly. Love that!
Chill Café Vibes
We grabbed a quick merienda at their café, which has a gorgeous view of the ocean. We ordered pizza, pasta, iced coffee, and their famous sticky rice with mango and tsokolate. Everything was tasty and comforting, perfect for a mid-day break.
What We Missed (Next Time, For Sure!)
We didn’t get to explore everything, but here are a few things we’ll definitely check out next time:
- Guided farm tour (bees and organic farming!)
- Organic gardens
- Loom weaving demo
- Herbal tea tasting
- Bee encounter experience
- Farm-to-table cooking demo
Behind the Scenes Fun
Before heading out, we got to peek into their workshop where they make their products and ice cream. Watching the process was super fun—like a mini factory tour.
