Samsung Unveils the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7

I had the incredible opportunity to attend the exclusive preview and hands-on review of Samsung's latest innovations, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, in Manila on July 4, 2025. As a user of the Galaxy Z Flip4, I was particularly excited to experience these new devices up close and personal. Here’s a recap of my impressions from the event.

Samsung Unveils the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7

First Impressions: Design and Build Quality

Galaxy Z Fold7

Upon holding the Galaxy Z Fold7, I was immediately amazed by its sleek and premium feel. Weighing just 215g and with a folded thickness of 8.9mm, it felt surprisingly light and comfortable in my hands. The 8-inch AMOLED main display was stunning—bright, vibrant, and immersive. The 200MP Ultra Camera was another highlight, promising exceptional photography capabilities.

Galaxy Z Flip7

The Galaxy Z Flip7, on the other hand, felt like a natural evolution of the Flip series. The 4.1-inch AMOLED FlexWindow was larger and more responsive than ever, making it a joy to interact with. The durability enhancements, including Gorilla Glass Victus® 2 and an upgraded FlexHinge, gave me confidence that this device could withstand daily use without compromising style.

Features That Stand Out

AI-Enhanced Productivity

Both devices showcased impressive AI capabilities. The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor delivered seamless performance, and features like Generative Edit and Photo Assist made content creation a breeze. I was particularly impressed by the One UI 8 interface, which felt intuitive and responsive.

Flexibility and Multitasking

The Z Fold7 excelled in multitasking, allowing me to run multiple apps side by side effortlessly. The Split View AI Results feature was a game-changer, enabling me to manage tasks more efficiently. Meanwhile, the Z Flip7 offered a unique experience with its FlexCam, allowing for creative angles and real-time filters that will surely appeal to social media enthusiasts.

Battery Life and Performance

Both devices boasted impressive battery life. The Flip7’s 4,300mAh battery promises up to 31 hours of video playback, which is fantastic for someone always on the go. Additionally, the integration of Samsung DeX turned the Flip7 into a mini workstation during the demo, showcasing its versatility for productivity.

A Bright Future for Foldables

Samsung continues to push the boundaries of what foldable smartphones can do, blending cutting-edge technology with user-friendly design. The enhancements in durability, display quality, and AI functionality make it a compelling upgrade.

Bringing the foldable experience to even more users, Samsung also announced Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. Compact when folded and expansive when opened, Galaxy Z Flip7 FE features a 6.7-inch Main Display for an immersive viewing experience. The 50MP FlexCam enables high-quality selfies and video in Flex Mode, letting users capture content hands-free, without even opening the device. Now Brief surfaces helpful updates - including weather, daily schedules and commute alerts - on the cover screen, in a layout optimized for Galaxy Z Flip7 FE’s compact form. Available in Black and White, it delivers a minimalist look that complements its intelligent, foldable design.

The Kadayawan Festival in Davao City, known as the "King of Festivals," is a lively celebration highlighting the area's rich cultural tapestry. Running from August 7 to 18, this year's festival promises to be a sensory delight, drawing in both locals and tourists eager to dive into Davao's vibrant traditions.

Embracing Diversity

Central to the Kadayawan Festival is the tribute to the 11 indigenous tribes of Davao, including the Bagobo-Tagabawa, Sama, Ata, Tausug, Bagobo, Iranun, Kagan, Maranao, Matigsalug, Obu Manuvu, and Maguindanaon. This contemporary take on their traditional harvest festival showcases the beauty and strength of these communities.

PLDT Home proudly collaborated with the festival and hosted various exciting events, including the highly anticipated Hiyas ng Kadayawan pageant. On August 16, Jane Rose Miones, representing the Bagobo-Plata tribe, was crowned "Hiyas ng PLDT." This unique pageant aims to celebrate the modern Davaoeña who exemplifies the qualities of an ideal role model, highlighting the talents and cultural heritage of women from all 11 tribes.

Special Guests and Exclusive Offers

On August 17, Miss Universe Philippines 2024, Chelsea Manalo, attended a media luncheon to discuss PLDT Home's initiatives during the festival. She introduced the Kadayawan Festival Sale, featuring a P3,600 discount on Fiber Unli All Plan 1399 installations throughout August. foodpanda joins 38th Kadayawan Festival - Kada-kada Like A Panda!

Get ready to splash some pink into Davao's vibrant Kadayawan Festival as foodpanda joins the party! Kadayawan is all about celebrating nature's blessings, cultural richness, bountiful harvests, and peace of life, featuring the diverse 11 tribes of Davao. This year marks the 38th of the annual celebration with the theme "Colors of Abundance, Vibrance of Diversity, Festival of Festivals."

foodpanda didn't just sit on the sidelines; they brought the fun to their loyal app users and newcomers alike. They rolled out surprises and exciting activities as part of their Kada-kada Like A Panda initiative to amp up the festive vibes.

Hair Philosophie by Jing Monis: A Press Delight

I was invited by the Hair Philosophie team to take part of their event, A Press Delight. It's an event dedicated to press people and bloggers to enjoy a day of relaxation and pampering at their salon. I was really excited to receive such invitation because I don't usually get invitations like this. I even thought of dyeing my hair to silver gray or light brown and try if it looks good on me. Then I realized if they cut and style my hair, we won't see any difference since my hair is too short at that time. So I thought of bringing my mom to avail the services instead of me. I'm glad Ms. Wendy and Ms. Rain Dimalanta agreed to my request. Thank you so much! :)

Here are the hair products the stylist used for my mom's hair.

According to the stylist Mr. Rich Chua, my mom just had a hair rebond so they will just have to color the roots. The white hairs on the roots are already visible. They also treated her hair to create volume. I was really expecting to see a different look and hair color from mom but the stylist explained to us why we can't color the hair full. The staff was really accommodating and explains the whole procedure very well.

The stylists were trained in Manila for months according to Sir Jing Monis when we had the chance to chat with him inside the VIP room. He was really accommodating too and shared a lot of tips on how to take care of our hair.

The products they used to the other press people and bloggers are from Schwarzkopf Professional, Macadamia Natural Oil and Wella Professionals. These products are only available in the salon.

I don't have a before and after photo of my mom but here's the result after the hair cut, hair color, and hair treatment. SUPER FAB! (Hindi lang nakapag-bihis ng maayos, kainis! hahaha!)

My mom was really happy with the result she boasted it all day long. Thank you Sir Jing Monis, to all the staff, and stylists of Hair Philosophie Salon in Abreeza Ayala Mall. Thanks for the gifts too! :)
