MANGO proudly opened its third Megastore in the Philippines at the Ground Floor of Abreeza Mall last June 2, 2016. The Megastore has an 817.45 square meter area and brought together its menswear line, MANGO Man, and its children's line, MANGO Kids in one space.

To celebrate the launch of the megastore, MANGO invited Tricia Gosingtian, one of the biggest names in the country’s fashion blogging community and one of my inspirations in blogging, to share her styling tips and meet her Davao-based readers and followers. The event was held inside the MANGO Megastore last June 11 as a special edition of the Abreeza Fashion Forum.

For those who don't know Tricia yet, she is one of the pioneers in fashion, lifestyle, and travel blogging in the Philippines. Her blog, Tricia Will Go Places (www.triciagosingtian.com) started seven years ago. She's pretty famous in social media with more than 500 thousand followers in total. She also wrote a bestselling book titled 150 Style Essentials for Every Girl in 2013.

Tricia shared her personal styling tips not just for women but for men as well. She described her style as "sophisti-cute" and talked about balance, color, layering, and accessorizing.

She also answered some questions from the media and her followers after her presentation.

Tricia then had a quick meet and greet with her Davao-based followers. I made sure I did not go "fanboying" when I had chances to take photos with her. Yes... CHANCES. I took a lot of photos with her and I even had a chit chat with her and her fiance RG. It was a surreal moment. Haha!

WHAT IS ABREEZA FASHION FORUM?

Abreeza Fashion Forum is a regular convergence of press, bloggers, and fashion insiders hosted by Abreeza Mall that aims to discuss and promote notable trends, projects, brands, and ideas in the field.

MANGO MEGASTORES

The MANGO megastore at Abreeza Mall is the 32 nd MANGO store in the country since the brand debuted in the Philippines in 1999. Besides Davao City, megastores also exist in Pasay City and Mandaluyong City.

First implemented worldwide in late 2013, the megastore concept applies to stores with a selling space of 800-3,000 square meters that stock all or most of the group’s lines. MANGO now has over 150 stores of this type worldwide, transforming 30% of its store chain into megastores over the last three years.

Abreeza Ayala Mall strengthens its commitment to be a bastion for fashion in Davao City by holding a Fashion Forum called Scandi-lous. It's an exclusive mini fashion show attended by members of the city's fashion publishing, and blogging communities. I'm glad to be invited to get a peek at the trends that are set to take over in 2016.

Lifestyle bloggers Jeffrey Mondia and Clea Banal
Last January 24, models showed off Scandinavian inspired looks from merchants namely Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, GAP, Mango, Marks & Spencer, and Promod.

Pam Quiñones, editor-in-chief of L'Officiel Manila was invited to talk about her style forecast in 2016 with Philippa Andren, a fashion consultant involved with L'Officiel Manila's styling team and a Scandinavian herself hailing from Denmark.

An exhibit by local fashion design collective Davao Elite Fashion Group graced the night inspired by the Pantone Color Institute's Color of the Year for 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity. They featured pink and blue-toned creations by Andi Amora, Aztec Barba, Bamba Limon, Tzardy Tombo, Windell Mira, and Xioti Chiu.

I never imagined to meet a Filipino representative from Next Top Model franchise. So when Abreeza invited me to join their new Fashion Forum, I never hesitated to say NO. Why? Because their guest was Monika Sta. Maria, the last Filipina standing in the latest season of Asia’s Next Top Model. She talked about her career in modeling and what she learned from the reality show.

Monika is the 1st runner up in AsNTM Season 3 next to Ayu Gani from Indonesia. She was a volleyball player from De La Salle University and a psychology graduate. She also won the Century Tuna SuperBods last 2012.

During the Fashion Forum, she shared to us her experiences when she auditioned for the show. She actually auditioned for the show’s Cycle 2 but she didn’t make the cut. So when she heard that there will be another audition, she really came in first and proved to the panel of judges that she is really serious in joining the next cycle. She successfully made the cut along with Amanda Chan and a Davaoeña Franchesca Lagua.

A lot of fans were able to ask her questions during the interview. And of course, I stand up and asked a very simple question. Fanboying here. LOL!

You were a volleyball player in DLSU, right? Then, what made you decide to do modeling?
“Oh, actually I am into modeling na talaga and then I want to do something in school so, I became a volleyball player. Kaya lang, magkaiba kasi ang diet ng isang volleyball player compared sa pagiging model. Vigorous kasi ang training namin. So I really have to choose.**”

We also had a chance to take pictures with her on stage.

A selfie is mandatory. So here she is.
She’s very tall and skinny but just right. She really loves all of her fans and never lets them down if they asked for a selfie.

Thanks to Ms. Cheekie Albay and Abreeza Ayala Mall for inviting me again in this monthly convergence of fashion and lifestyle.
