June 1 was a treat for all shoe lovers in Davao as Native Shoes officially opened its doors at Abreeza Ayala Mall—and I was lucky to be invited to their “Wonder in Breeze” launch event!
Native Shoes Opens at Abreeza Ayala Mall
As a long-time Native Shoes fan, this was an exciting moment for me. I’ve been using Native for years now, and it’s my go-to footwear whether I’m heading out for errands, going to work, or packing for a beach vacation. They’re just so easy to wear, lightweight, and incredibly comfy—not to mention they usually match whatever I’m wearing.

My All-Time Favorite: The Lennox

During the event, I picked out a new pair of Lennox, and wow—what a difference! Compared to my older pairs, this one felt noticeably softer, lighter, and more comfortable. I learned that it’s now made with Wanderfoam, a new insole technology that provides a soft, cushioned feel while offering stability and support.

What makes Wanderfoam extra special is that it’s infused with Sugarlite™—Native’s sustainable innovation that blends traditional EVA with sugarcane-derived resin. This material reduces greenhouse gas emissions by around 22%, making each pair of shoes not only better for your feet but also better for the planet.

A Splash of Fun with Loopie Charms

One of the most exciting surprises at the launch? If you bought a pair that day, you could customize it with Loopie charms—for FREE!

Yes, Native shoes are now customizable with cute, quirky accessories like trinkets, ribbons, and icons that you can attach right onto your pair. It’s a fun, creative way to add a personal touch to your footwear, and kids will especially love this!

MANGO proudly opened its third Megastore in the Philippines at the Ground Floor of Abreeza Mall last June 2, 2016. The Megastore has an 817.45 square meter area and brought together its menswear line, MANGO Man, and its children's line, MANGO Kids in one space.

To celebrate the launch of the megastore, MANGO invited Tricia Gosingtian, one of the biggest names in the country’s fashion blogging community and one of my inspirations in blogging, to share her styling tips and meet her Davao-based readers and followers. The event was held inside the MANGO Megastore last June 11 as a special edition of the Abreeza Fashion Forum.

For those who don't know Tricia yet, she is one of the pioneers in fashion, lifestyle, and travel blogging in the Philippines. Her blog, Tricia Will Go Places (www.triciagosingtian.com) started seven years ago. She's pretty famous in social media with more than 500 thousand followers in total. She also wrote a bestselling book titled 150 Style Essentials for Every Girl in 2013.

Tricia shared her personal styling tips not just for women but for men as well. She described her style as "sophisti-cute" and talked about balance, color, layering, and accessorizing.

She also answered some questions from the media and her followers after her presentation.

Tricia then had a quick meet and greet with her Davao-based followers. I made sure I did not go "fanboying" when I had chances to take photos with her. Yes... CHANCES. I took a lot of photos with her and I even had a chit chat with her and her fiance RG. It was a surreal moment. Haha!

WHAT IS ABREEZA FASHION FORUM?

Abreeza Fashion Forum is a regular convergence of press, bloggers, and fashion insiders hosted by Abreeza Mall that aims to discuss and promote notable trends, projects, brands, and ideas in the field.

MANGO MEGASTORES

The MANGO megastore at Abreeza Mall is the 32 nd MANGO store in the country since the brand debuted in the Philippines in 1999. Besides Davao City, megastores also exist in Pasay City and Mandaluyong City.

First implemented worldwide in late 2013, the megastore concept applies to stores with a selling space of 800-3,000 square meters that stock all or most of the group’s lines. MANGO now has over 150 stores of this type worldwide, transforming 30% of its store chain into megastores over the last three years.

Fujifilm Instax Philippines invited us to Instax & Crafts DIY Workshop last May 21 at Abreeza Ayala Mall. Of course as a fan of Fujifilm Instax and DIY projects, I have no plans of missing this one out. Thanks to Ms. Jojie Alcantara, Fujifilm Ambassador for inviting us to the workshop.

We were given a chance to print 5 copies of Instax photos using our cell phones to the Instax Share printer. You have to install the Instax Share App first and choose the photos you would like to print. Then connect it to the Instax Share Printer and you'll get an instant photo right away!

I am so happy to learn some photography tips from Ms. Jojie especially to take double exposure photos using the Fujifilm Instax Cameras. It was a bit difficult at first but you'll get used to it and you'll be surprised with every result.

Ms. April San Pedro of Artisan Paperie also taught us how to create our own Instax Pop-Up Banner. I left my creative juices at home so I don't know what I was doing. I just cut out some colored papers and used all of the materials on the table. Hahaha!

It was indeed a creative and productive event, thanks Fujifilm and Abreeza!
