Just beside the lockers was an escalator that led directly to the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car entrance and ticket booth. The excitement was building.

Riding the Crystal Cabin
Our first ride was in a Crystal Cabin, and it was absolutely thrilling. The glass floor gave us a full 360-degree view of the stunning scenery below. My mom was a bit uneasy at first because of her fear of heights, but the breathtaking views quickly won her over.
The ride to Ngong Ping Village took around 20 minutes. We were amazed by the long stretch of cable that carried us through the sky. From the towering buildings of Tung Chung to the vast Hong Kong International Airport and the surrounding sea, the views were unforgettable. We even spotted waterfalls and hiking trails winding through the mountains. It was a whole new perspective of Hong Kong’s natural beauty.
Discovering Ngong Ping Village
Ngong Ping Village welcomed us with a peaceful, charming atmosphere. The streets were lined with shops selling local products, snacks, and souvenirs. There was an immersive attraction available, but we had to skip it due to the unpredictable weather. Rain came and went, alternating with sunny breaks, but it didn’t dampen our spirits.
At the base of the Tian Tan Buddha, we were struck by its grandeur. We saw the long staircase leading up to the statue but decided not to climb, keeping my parents’ comfort in mind. Even from below, the Buddha’s presence was powerful and serene.
We took plenty of photos to capture the beauty of the village and the joy of our adventure.
A Picture-Perfect Return
Before heading back, we bought two framed photos taken by the on-site photographer during our descent. They were sturdy, beautifully framed, and my dad insisted on getting both as keepsakes.
Our return ride was another Crystal Cabin, this time decorated with Zootopia characters in celebration of Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary. The entrance to Ngong Ping Village even featured a commemorative structure for the occasion, adding a magical touch to the day.
