HONOR X5c Plus Review PH: Budget Phone with 3-Day Battery Life

HONOR X5c Plus Review PH
I recently got to try the HONOR X5c Plus, and to be honest, I went in with pretty standard expectations for a budget phone. But after unboxing it and using it for a few days, I realized—it’s actually a very practical device that fits perfectly into everyday life.

First Impressions: Clean and Surprisingly Premium

Unboxing the HONOR X5c Plus is simple and straightforward. Inside, you get the essentials: the phone, charging cable, adapter, and even a free clear jelly case—which is always a nice bonus.

Design-wise, this is where it pleasantly surprised me. The matte finish at the back gives it a clean and elegant look. Hindi siya mukhang cheap, and it doesn’t easily attract fingerprints. It’s also lightweight, making it comfortable to hold even for long periods—something I really appreciate as someone who’s always on their phone.

Build & Everyday Usability

The phone feels solid enough for daily use. The power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner, which is very convenient and responsive. The placement is natural, so unlocking the phone feels seamless.

You also get a headphone jack, which is something a lot of users still look for—especially for those who prefer wired earphones.

Display: Big, Smooth, and Enjoyable

The HONOR X5c Plus features a 6.74-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate. For its price range, that’s already a strong feature.

Scrolling through apps like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok feels smooth, and watching videos is enjoyable. It even supports up to 1080p streaming on YouTube, which makes it great for casual viewing.

If you’re someone who consumes a lot of content daily, this display definitely delivers a good experience.

Performance: Sakto for Daily Tasks

This phone isn’t built for heavy gaming—and that’s completely fine.

Powered by a MediaTek processor and running on MagicOS, it handles everyday tasks smoothly. Messaging, social media, light gaming, and browsing are all manageable without major issues.

For students, casual users, or even as a backup phone, this is more than enough.

Camera: Decent for Social and Everyday Use

The HONOR X5c Plus comes with a 50MP main camera, which performs well in good lighting conditions.

It’s perfect for quick photos, social media posts, and capturing everyday moments. While it’s not meant to compete with flagship cameras, it delivers decent results that are more than usable for content creation.

Here are some sample photos.

Battery Life: One of Its Strongest Points

If there’s one feature that really stands out, it’s the battery.

With a 5200mAh capacity, this phone can last up to 2 to 3 days depending on your usage. For someone who’s always out or busy, this is a huge advantage. Less time charging, more time actually using the phone.

Final Thoughts: Worth It for the Price?

The HONOR X5c Plus isn’t trying to be flashy or overpowered—and that’s exactly why it works.

It focuses on the essentials: a clean design, reliable performance, a large display, and long battery life. Now priced at around ₱6,999, it still offers great value for those looking for a budget-friendly smartphone that simply gets the job done.

If you’re someone who needs a dependable daily driver without spending too much, this is definitely worth considering.
