Kati Kati, Swahili for “between”, is made from beans from East Africa which produce extraordinary summer coffees. Everyone deserves some relaxation after a busy day at work. It doesn't mean you need to go out of the city or go to the beach. A sip of coffee and a comfortable couch is all you need. Plus some friends to chit chat with. I found a perfect place that serves good food and has a relaxed and comfortable environment. I'm talking about Koffiepauze - a coffee shop we found along Roxas Avenue.


Koffiepauze is a dutch word that simply means "coffee break". The Tinio family had an idea of putting up a one-stop coffee shop that has a flower boutique, a souvenir and stationery stand with complete postal service. However, from those concepts and ideas, only the former was realized. They opened last May 8, 2014 at the Palmetto Condo in Ma-a and transferred late last year at Roxas Avenue.


The managers Ms. Donna Patricia Tinio and Mrs. Melody Liz Espinosa, invited us to their new and bigger home at 100 Roxas Ave. Dormitory. We had the chance to taste some of their dishes and hot and cold drinks.

They also have 2 small rooms that can accommodate 10-20 people. Good for private meetings or group studies.

My top three favorites are Khani Salad, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and their signature drink Jo's Koffie. So far, I love their food and drinks. Sometimes, the drinks are too sweet so when you order, tell the barista to adjust the sweetness. But the best thing about Koffiepauze is that you'd really feel and enjoy the luxury of your coffee break.

Usher the new year as Starbucks showcase their latest additions to the Starbucks Espresso Confections line: the Strawberry Red Velvet Mocha and Chestnut White Chocolate Truffle. These decadent flavors are now available until February 22, 2016 to be served by your favorite friendly baristas in any Starbucks store near you.

The Strawberry Red Velvet Mocha has a deliciously rich velvet sauce combined with mocha, steamed milk, and lovingly topped with cheesecake whipped cream, and lightly sprinkled with real strawberry bits.

The Chestnut White Chocolate Truffle is their signature espresso and steamed milk combined with a decadent white chocolate chestnut sauce and finished with whipped cream and chestnut drizzle.

It's a Latin American coffee with elegant flavor complexity, a unique floral aroma, lemon-like acidity and dark cocoa finish. Casi Cielo, which is Spanish for "almost heaven" comes from Antigua valley.



Add these new featured Starbucks cards to your collection! The Lunar New Year Card will be a perfect gift to celebrate a fun, exciting, and cheerful 2016 with your friends. The celebration is extending until Valentine's Day as they release the limited edition Valentine's Day Card. The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf hopes to give flavorfully this season in ways that warm our soul as much as the body. I'm lucky enough to be invited to their Holiday Launch and a fun watercolor session last November 7, 2015 at their shop in SM Lanang Premier.



This year, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is offering several ways to share the holiday spirit with this season's favorites. They will serve two special holiday flavors in two variations - iced drink and warm latte. The Winter Dream Tea is a drink that has come to be anticipated by coffee lovers. It has rooibos and black tea blended with sweet spices and hints of vanilla. The newest addition is the Toffee Nut which has a buttery caramelized sugar with a hint of nut, paired with the richness of espresso and a sprinkle of toffee bits.

CBTL will also be releasing the new edition of The Giving Journal. I am a real fan of notebooks, planners, and the like (even though I don't want to write something on it, I just want to collect. We also had a fun watercolor session with Ms. April San Pedro during the launch. She taught us how to write letters using watercolor. It was not that easy yet it was really fun! Thanks Ms. April and Sir Joel Bagas from Fujifilm for the nice Instax shots.
