Morissette is MADE - Davao

Morissette Amon has been a household name since The Voice of the Philippines in 2013. She didn't win the title but she soared high as the "Next Big Diva" of OPM music. People were wowed by her live performances on ASAP and became a mainstay as one of the Birit Queens.

To be honest, I've been a fan since I saw her second live show performance where she sang "What About Love" by Heart. While she's performing in ASAP every Sunday, she has successful concerts and tours not only in the country but worldwide. Her recent string of concerts was in Manila, Laguna, and Cebu. And on September 2, she is geared to wow the Davao audience.

"Morissette Is Made" will happen at SMX Convention Center at SM Lanang Premier and Dabawenyos are raving about it. It's a homecoming of sorts for the Cebuana artist because her father Mr. Amay Amon is originally from Davao. By Morissette's special request, The Unstoppable Darren Espanto will be her special guest at the concert.

“I love Darren because he is my good friend. I thought it would be special if I shared the stage with him,” says Morissette, who will also be one of the awardees of the prestigious PeopleAsia magazine for its upcoming “Women of Style and Substance” issue.

Morissette’s three recent concerts at Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna and Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City have been talked about not only because she can fill up coliseums and stadiums to the rafters but also because of her sincerity and power in tackling her songs.

In Cebu, she mesmerized the audience with her cover of a Regine Velasquez original “Pangarap Ko Ay Ibigin Ka,” with a whistle.

“Morissette Is Made” is produced by AEP Productions and sponsored by SMDC and Frontrow.

National Camella Day 2018

Color Manila Challenge Run Davao 2018

It's going to be a colorful Kadayawan as Camella Homes Davao brings Color Manila Challenge Run this August 12, 2018, at SM Lanang Premier. The country's number one fun-run organizer, Color Manila will be back for another round of fun and colorful race. But this time, the race will be more exciting because there will be obstacle courses.

ColorManila VP Justine Cordero says, “We are excited to bring the CM Challenge Run to Davao, which is a perfect mix of both a fun – run and an obstacle course run, or OCR. We are also bringing our CM Challenge obstacles to Davao, and we would like to invite runners, and our followers alike, to join this event on August 12, 2018."

Participants can choose between 3K, 5K, and 10K, and can look forward to obstacles such as the inflatable slide, inflatable tire skip, military crawl obstacles, among others. Apart from which, runners can listen to the latest music while going through the various challenges.

Sun Life Financial Event - A Wake Up Call

I attended a Sun Life Financial event last Friday named "Let's have some FUNds #SunLifeFunday" at Rekado Davao. After work, I immediately went to the venue to check out what Sun Life Financial prepared for us. I came and listened to the speakers and I considered it as a wake-up call!

The event just started when I arrived at the venue. Everyone's listening to Mark Bonifacio's speech on how to save money and find ways to earn more. It was indeed a slap to my face when he talked about bad spending habits and not saving money for future use. Every detail of his presentation was on point and realistic.

He mentioned that examining my bills and subscriptions are also important. I even denied this fact before but now I am listing the subscriptions that I really don't need and will cut them out as soon as possible.

What really hit me the most was when he mentioned bad money habits. I didn't even know about the term "emotional spending" until that very moment. I realized I'm doing it for the longest time and I need to stop it ASAP. It's like you're in a bad mood and wants to buy anything just to make you happy or you're stressed from work, you'll go shopping for new clothes or take out expensive food.

Impulsive buying is also one of my problems. You're off to the mall just to buy groceries but ended up going home with shopping bags.

JP Fabian, a Sun Life Financial Advisor taught us to start investing for our future ASAP. He shared his experiences, realizations, on how he started saving up, and eventually became a Sun Life Financial Advisor. He was hospitalized before and found out that he's no longer able to sustain the expenses at the hospital. Without an insurance, he eventually asked money from his parents. He taught us that we should be prepared for anything and get a trusted insurance company.

It was an eye-opener experience for me and I really needed that. Especially lately I'm having problems handling my own finances. I would love to take part in their next events and learn more from them. Start to live brighter today and check out Sun Life Financial.

SummerFrolic partners with Cebu Pacific on its 5th year

It's that time of the year again! Summer will never be complete without SummerFrolic in Mati! Every year, party-goers are excited to take part of the best music festival in Davao region. On their 5th year, expect a unique theme and best line up of local and international DJ's.

Summerfrolic is a 2-day music festival celebrated at Dahican Beach, Mati, Davao Oriental. It was founded in April 2014 to celebrate good music and the beautiful beaches in Mati. The event is to help promote the tourism of Davao Oriental and to help indigenous people get access to free surgical services. This is in a partnership of FrolicFox Productions with HALAD Mission Group Foundation and La-ne's Corporation.

I was able to join their first event and it was the most memorable music festival I have ever experienced. They have the best stage set up, the best DJ lineup, and it's near the beach. You can choose to chill or rave without going anywhere else. It was even better when we went last year with a bigger stage and great DJ's. This year's theme is "Chromium Utopia" and I am sure people will be raving about it.
