I had the opportunity to attend the Sun Life Philippines Live Brighter Forum last April 27 at the SMX Convention Center. This is a series of recruitment events for aspiring Sun Life Financial Advisors. Being invited to cover and witness this event was an exciting one, as it allowed me to gain insights into the world of financial services and the role of a Sun Life Financial Advisor. The Live Brighter Forum kicked off in Davao City and has since traveled to Iloilo City, Pasay City, and will be heading to Pampanga next.
May 15, 2024
There were interactive booths like the "Next Big Quiz," "Next Big Destination," and "Next Big Project" situated around the convention center. These booths showcased the travel incentives and highlighted the advisors' corporate social responsibility initiatives.
One of the most compelling aspects of the event was the opportunity to hear the real-life stories of current Sun Life Financial Advisors. Their passion and dedication to helping clients achieve a brighter financial future were truly inspiring. They shared how the role has given them the opportunity to earn an unlimited income, enjoy the freedom of time, and develop a profound sense of purpose.
Sun Life provides comprehensive training and support to their Financial Advisors. It's evident that the company invests heavily in nurturing its talent, ensuring that they are well-equipped to guide clients through their financial journeys. The opportunity to be a Sun Life Financial Advisor seemed to offer the perfect blend of personal and professional fulfillment, and I could see why it was being marketed as the "Next Big Gig" for Millennials and Gen Zs.
Sharing stories like these can inspire and inform others who may be considering a career change or exploring new opportunities. The Sun Life Live Brighter Forum provided a unique and insightful glimpse into the world of financial services, and I'm grateful to have had the chance to cover it.
If you'd like to learn more about the Sun Life Live Brighter Forum and the "Next Big Gig" opportunity, visit www.sunlife.co/gig or reach out to a Sun Life advisor near you. Who knows, this could be the start of an exciting new chapter for aspiring financial professionals.

I recently attended the insightful ePLDT 'ASCEND' Cloud Tech Day today
at SEDA Hotel. I met with industry leaders who shared their cutting-edge services
in AI, Cloud, and Cybersecurity. ePLDT aims to deliver customized ICT services
through its suite of Multi-Cloud and Data Centers, which will enable
enterprises to achieve their digital transformation vision.

ePLDT offers a range of services including cloud computing, data center
solutions, managed services, and cybersecurity - all of which can be
particularly beneficial for small to medium-sized businesses. Their flexible,
scalable solutions allow SMEs to access enterprise-grade technology and
infrastructure, empowering them to innovate and grow without the need for hefty
upfront investments.
I was impressed to learn about ePLDT's success stories right here in Mindanao.
RD Pawnshop in Davao utilized VITRO to safeguard their data outside the city,
while educational institutions like Holy Cross College of Davao, University of
Immaculate Concepcion, and Davao Medical School Foundation have also leveraged
ePLDT's solutions. Additionally, Parasat Cable in Cagayan de Oro uses ePLDT's ViX
or VITRO Internet Exchange to provide high-quality service to their gaming
customers.
As a content creator, this event was invaluable in learning about the latest
tech solutions that could benefit my audience. Looking forward to exploring how
these innovative offerings from ePLDT can enhance my digital projects and
improve the solutions of many companies in the Philippines.

As a resident of Davao City, I recently had the opportunity to attend Grab's "No Sweat Summer" event at Abreeza Ayala Mall. The event was designed to showcase how Grab's services can help Davaoeños beat the intense summer heat and enjoy the season without the hassle.
As I entered the event, I was immediately captivated by the vibrant and energetic atmosphere. At the entrance, I noticed the presence of refreshing Grab-branded coolers. Each of these coolers seemed to offer a unique activity for attendees to engage with and enjoy.
As I entered the event, I was immediately captivated by the vibrant and energetic atmosphere. At the entrance, I noticed the presence of refreshing Grab-branded coolers. Each of these coolers seemed to offer a unique activity for attendees to engage with and enjoy.
The event kicked off with Grab sharing insights on the top summer coolers being ordered by Davaoeños on GrabFood. I have to admit, I wasn't surprised to hear that soda floats, iced coffee, halo-halo, mocha floats, and mango shakes were among the most popular choices. As a Davao native, I know all too well the joy of indulging in these delectable treats to cool down.
I found Grab's emphasis on their GrabFood Saver Delivery particularly interesting. Knowing that I can get these summer coolers delivered for as low as ₱15 is a game-changer, making it easy and affordable to enjoy them daily.
Beyond just food delivery, Grab also highlighted how their reliable GrabCar service can help me explore the city's top destinations, like the Malagos Garden Resort and Philippine Eagle Center, without the hassle of driving and parking in the heat. The recent introduction of Grab RideSaver, a cost-effective subscription package, is definitely something I'll be looking into to save on my transportation needs during the summer months.
What struck me the most was Grab's holistic approach to enhancing the Davaoeño's "hot season experience". They recognized that summer is a vital time for families and groups to plan trips and adventures together, and they positioned their platform as a one-stop shop to address all our transportation, food, and logistics needs during this time.
The coolers offered interactive activities that I was eager to try. I had a wonderful time singing karaoke and even got to play at being a boxer - it was a truly fun and engaging experience!
