I’ve been very busy lately so I have no time to pamper myself with a refreshing facial or any skin care. So I have bumps and dry skin right now. I’ve been to different skin centers and tried their services, and I realized how these chemicals from different products can eventually ruin my skin. Then I heard about My Skin Origins Facial and Skin Care Center from my fellow bloggers and found out that it is owned and managed by Mr. and Mrs. Jennifer and Alan Echano. I met them at a wedding photo shoot with my best friend last year. I asked Ms. Jen about their clinic on Facebook and then later invited me to come to their clinic to try out their services and check their skin care products.

Blugre Coffee launched 2 of their newest brands last December and I’m pretty sure you’ll love this! Since 1998, they’ve been serving home-grown hot and cold coffee blends, fruit juices, and delectable food. Now, they have something to spice up our coffee experience. We had a chance to witness the launching of Blugre Radio and Blugre Lifestyle last December 13, 2014 at their Matina Town Square branch.

Me and my friend Benj have been eating different kinds of barbeque for a couple of days now. I really don’t know why but he really loves eating grilled stuff nowadays. Then I was craving for a Japanese delicacy lately. Anyare sa mga appetite namin ngayon?! LOL!
There’s this new restaurant in Quirino Avenue and I’ve been wanting to try and eat there. When Benj and I met last night, we decided to try Tori Grill. It’s a new grill restaurant that serves barbeque in Japanese style!

It was all in my news feed for quite some time and I got really curious about it. I installed GrabTaxi a few months back when it was not a news maker yet. I was hesitant to use it and I thought it’s kinda hassle. (Ininstall ang app, di naman gagamitin. Parang tanga lang. LOL!)

When I saw it on Facebook and it all got hyped up all of a sudden, I thought maybe I should try it too. They had a promo that when you book a taxi using the app, you’ll pay the metered fare less P100. So everybody went gaga over it! Pero ako? Nahhh… next time. Hahaha! So the promo ended I-don’t-know-when. Then here comes the P50 Less your metered fare promo. So I decided, OK fine. Let’s try it. Honestly speaking, once you tried it, you can’t stop! Hahaha!

GrabTaxi is the first e-hailing company in the Philippines. It started in Malaysia as MyTeksi. This is very useful to all passengers especially now that we experience heavy rains and traffic. This is also very efficient to all taxi drivers and operators. No need to look around for passengers.

How to use GrabTaxi

1. Download the app and register. It will ask for your name and mobile number. Pick a starting point and your destination then tap next.

2. Type in some notes if you want to help the driver recognize you. Then type the promo code if there’s any. Then tap Confirm Booking.

3. GrabTaxi will now contact the drivers nearby. They each have a smartphone and will ping them each time there are bookings nearby.

4. If they don’t have passengers, they will accept your booking and will go straight to your location.

5. The good thing about this is you will know the name of your taxi driver, his taxi number, and how minutes will he arrive at your location. You can also contact the driver thru text or call in case he missed you.

6. Once he arrived, he will ask your name to confirm your booking. Then off you go!

7. Once you arrived at your location, you can tap End Trip and tap I have arrived.

8. They will also ask for a rating of your ride. I always tap 6 stars! :)

I’ve been using GrabTaxi for a week now and it’s been very helpful for me.

TIPS:

1. It will take time to look for a driver when booking. One time, it took me almost 10 minutes to finally get a driver. Maybe because there are a lot of bookings around the area or it’s just a busy day. So if you are really in a hurry, this will not be helpful. So try to book ahead of time.

2. Put the right location. I cancelled a booking because I gave the wrong address.

3. The drivers are very courteous. Try to smile and greet them too! :)

The P50 Less Promo is up until December 21. Use the promo code “PASKO” when booking. If the promo ends, they will charge P70 on top of your fare. So you have the whole week to book your rides!

But since I feel so generous today, I want you to download the app now and use this REFERRAL CODE and enjoy FREE BOOKING FEE off your FIRST THREE RIDES! I hope it helps!

My office mates invited me and really pushed me to join them to eat dinner in Cafe Marco @ the Marco Polo Hotel. I was really hesitant since I know it’s P990 per person! I have never eaten an almost a thousand peso buffet noh! Jusko! Anong meron don? Bakit ang mahal? Nahihilo na nga ako sa Viking’s dahil sa dami ng pagkain at sa presyo nitong P800+ per person!

Well since it was pay day, and I really want to blog about it! (Ambait ko lang kasi iniisip ko pa rin kayong mga readers ko. Charot! As if andami kong readers. LOL!) I have decided to join and eat dinner with them. And by the way, it’s my first time to go to Marco Polo. Hihihi!

Of course someone has to make reservations! Thanks to Joni for doing that. (Read my blog about Buffets here para malaman niyo. Hihihi)

We arrived famished after a hard days work. (Charot!) These funny looking staff assisted us to our table near the window or garden something and I realized the place is really nice. “Funny looking” kasi theme nila OctoberFest tapos naka-Irish costume ang lahat ng waiters and waitresses.

We checked all of the food. Here are some snap shots from my phone.

The Main Course Section

Sushi Counter! Yummy!

Drool worthy desserts!

Looks like Minnie Mouse right?! It’s actually a Chocolate Mousse! Pagbasa niyo MOUSE noh? Hahaha! Lakas ko lang mang-trip! Hehehe.

One of the yummiest desserts!

I also tried their soft ice cream. I grabbed a small bowl kasi umapaw ang ice cream sa cone! Ito ang result kung hindi ka marunong gumamit ng ice cream machine. Hahaha! At para di mapahiya, nilagyan ko na lang ng kung anong ek-ek para may design kuno. Hahaha!

I also tried their chocolate fondue. There’s mango cubes, small round pastries, and sliced papaya. I still don’t get it why there’s fruits. I thought marshmallows and pastries lang ang pwede sa fondue.Pero keri! Kumuha na lang ako. Hahaha!

Ito ang reaction ko nung nalaman kong P990 ang babayaran ko. Chos lang! Hahaha!

Here’s my verdict.

A dinner buffet worth P990 is too pricey for me. Even if it’s inside a hotel or they have bigtime chefs, the food they serve is not worth the price. I’ve been to a lot of buffet restaurants that’s why I can tell if it’s affordable or not. They serve good food, but not that many. The good thing about Cafe Marco is they serve different kinds of food everyday. The food they serve is based on their current theme. Like the “OctoberFest” theme wherein they serve free beers to everyone. The place is not crowded so this is good for intimate dates. Staff needs to be more accommodating. We need to call them from far away. It seems everyone is hiding! We actually made a mistake in eating raw prawns because there were no staff at the counter. Pahabol! The dessert counter is to die for. Hahaha!

Last 2011, I got really curious about this place. Nadadaanan ko kasi siya going to work. It has a different and cool ambience so it really caught my interest. So when it opened in May of the same year at Torres St., me and my twitter friends visited Green Coffee and boy, I was really surprised!

I can still remember that I used to go there like everyday with my friends after dinner to end the night with a sip of their freeziccinos. Then, it became very popular and they received a lot of costumers until now.

One of the main reasons why I love this place is because it has good interiors. It’s like you’re in an indoor garden. And guess what, they also have an air-conditioned garden! Say whuuuut???  :)

After a lot of visits, this would be the first AND NOT THE LAST review I’ll give to Green Coffee. Here’s what I ordered 2 weeks ago at their newest branch in Bajada.

Mango Freezziccino (P150)

Caramel Cinnamon Roll

InfairnessNaubos ko talaga ang Cinnamon Roll. Because it really tastes good. It’s not really “cinnamony“ if that’s the term. Hahaha! And the nuts add crunch to it. The Mango Freeziccino was light and tastes fresh too!

My recent visit was last night after attending a friend’s birthday party. I went to their Torres branch with some friends and I ordered this.

Green Tea Fine Salt and Cheese (P170)

This is just HEAVEN! Para siyang ice cream! Hahaha! Still can’t get over it. It has cheese on top of a milk tea and you drink it without a straw! So expect that you’ll have a cheese moustache when you drink it. :)

Drinking coffee, milk tea, or green tea or whatever you like can never be this HEAVENly. Yeah I know, I’m still overwhelmed with the Green Tea FSC. Haha! Sorry powwww.

Well, I will definitely come back if I have the time and money, of course! LOL! And I’ve been recommending this to my friends from Manila or Cebu or to anyone who wants a coffee fix.

For me, it’s a bit pricey compared to other coffee shops but it’s actually worth it. They serve pastries and pastas too which is good. But I heard pasta is not fit for coffee? Is it true? Anyway, their staff is so nice and accommodating. Some of their staff who were transferred from Torres St. to their SM Lanang branch still recognizes me! ISN’T IT AMAZING? The Torres branch gets too crowded minsan pag weekends, so you might wanna visit other branches too.

But overall, Green Coffee is still at the top of my list.
Why don’t you give them a visit today to find out what I’m saying.

I love the lights. I love the streets.
I used my iPhone 4S in taking this photo with the “Slow Shutter” App.

It has 3 different types of shots. You can choose motion blur, low light, and light trail. In this shot, I used Light Trail. I tried to adjust the light sensitivity and capture duration to get that almost perfect shot. Unfortunately, I don’t have a tripod so it took me some time to get a clear shot. I tried standing up, sitting down, bending, and even STOPPED BREATHING! I also found wires from the billboards at the overpass to somehow bend it and form it like a tripod. Hahaha!

It’s a good thing that there’s no street vendor or “mysterious” people around the area but still I was very cautious at that time.

Well, all I need to do is to get a good tripod and try again! You also have to consider the weather and of course, the location. More practice for me!

Go to the Apple Store now and install the “Slow Shutter” app!
